Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) announced yesterday it offered Motorola Mobility (NYSE:MMI) 12.5 billion dollars in a buyout offer. This is good for $40 a share and the offer was accepted by the board. It was a 60% premium on the current trading price. What does this mean for the cell phone space? Does this move have media and other technological competitive implications? Where does this lead us in 2 years? 5 years? Will Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI) be affected by this in any way? What about Research In Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) and HTC? Should Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) worry?

Google Purchase of Motorola Mobility Shakes Up Media and Technology Sectors

In the past week, Nokia lowered its forecast and expectations for the coming quarters as well as full year. Since then, the stock has been steadily spiraling downward aggressively and losing even more value. Nokia put out guidance that sales at its devices and services division in the second quarter would fall below its forecast range of $8.9 billion because it is selling fewer handsets at lower prices than previous expectations. Analysts feel the miss could be by as much of a margin as 20%. The company totally discarded its guidance for the rest of the year. Nokia's ADR shares, which closed Friday at $6.66, have shed 35% in value since the start of 2011 and are trading around their 13 year low, giving it a market capitalization of about $ 24
billion. The balance sheet for Nokia is in pretty good shape; however the company could quickly burn through cash during its current transitionary period.

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Nokia (NYSE:NOK): A Fit or a Disaster?

Do we have a hallelujah on Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI) staying above $1.00 yet? I think it may be time. There have been a lot of questions and speculation on why Sirius XM dropped after such a good earnings report. In my humble reality (which is fairly dizzy) the stock was simply overbought.

Sirius XM Continues Its Pattern Of Consistency

By Relmor Demitrius - Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI), which is 40% owned by Liberty Media (NASDAQ:LCAPA), achieved something few companies in their industry, if any, did in 2009: They came out of 2009 in better financial shape and returned to subscriber growth during one of the most difficult economic periods possible. 2009 was a troubling time for the newly merged radio companies. Huge debt obligations were due, the economy was in shambles, and the auto industry wasn't selling enough cars.

Sirius XM Radio Returns to Subscriber Growth During Brutal Economic Conditions
